STEP 1 – WARM UP
In this step, you’ll train your hand to draw lines and shapes that are needed to render alligator/crocodile texture 🐊.
First, draw several curved lines as shown below. You can do it with a fineliner. Pay attention to the direction of bending. The upper lines are curved upwards and the lower lines are curved downwards.
Next, between each line draw shapes that are similar to rectangles but are more curved. Draw them effortlessly and randomly.
STEP 2 – SKETCH PREPARATION
In Step 3, you can watch two video tutorials, where I am showing how to render an alligator/crocodile texture using markers. As I mentioned before, we are going to work with Tom Ford Fall’14 RTW look that perfectly suits this lesson ✨. You can draw your own sketch (reference image) or you can download free printable template that I’ve created for you. Just click on the image below.
STEP 3 – SKETCH RENDERING
Now it is time to enjoy the most fun part! Above I’ve listed all the marker colors 👆🏽 that I am gonna use in the next two videos. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
Actually, you can work in a similar way with watercolors. It just takes more time 😴⌛️
If you use pencils, then first do all the line work with a fineliner and only after that start coloring.
STEP 4 – DESIGN PROJECT
